CPHA stands for Contractors Plant Hire Association.

They’re the industry body in South Africa that sets the standard terms and conditions when you hire plant or equipment, like diggers, pumps, cranes, or trucks.

So if you’re renting gear from a plant hire company, chances are they’ll use a CPHA contract. It covers stuff like:

• Who’s responsible if the machine breaks
• What happens if it gets stolen or damaged
• What you owe if there’s downtime
